Lightboards of the World

Independently developed lightboards:

• My (Michael Peshkin) "open source hardware" lightboard is described here. It includes a few tricks: optical reversal, powerpoint overlay, and a live-monitor with reflection cancellation. You can sample videos for my Electronics Design class.

• Matt Anderson at San Diego State University developed a lightboard (he named it Learning Glass) which he uses for his physics classes. He uses a smaller glass sheet, 3x5 feet. You can sample his videos. Here's an article and a video about it, and also a video walk-thru of his setup and written documentation of it. Matt and colleagues have founded a company, Learning Glass Solutions, which markets complete packages.

• Alex Anpilogov, a freelance creative technologist, developed a lightboard ("LED board") for UK tutoring firm Mathsdoctor.

• Singer-songwriter Zaz did a music video employing maybe a lightboard. And Pablo Picasso painted on glass while being filmed through it.
